As soon as we started planning our Tuscan wedding, we knew that there was no other choice. It was always Lyka or bust! Luckily, she was able to accommodate us and we couldn't be happier with the results. Her style is very natural but there's a slight touch of dreaminess to it. She doesn't ask you to do cheesy and overly dramatic poses. She's incredibly patient with camera shy subjects and makes you feel at ease. Within just a few minutes, you'll even forget that she's there taking photos. Looking back, she was able to capture our special day exactly as it happened. Even when things didn't go according to plan (It rained during the reception), she remained on point and went ahead to document how our sit down dinner evolved into a super fun house party. If you're planning on getting married, do yourself a favor and book Lyka Orhel while you still can. It's really Lyka or bust!

Lyka Orhel Mak is an incredibly talented photographer. She has a great eye for beauty and capturing moments. I found her upon the recommendation of a friend and we are happy with our choice. Lyka is sweet and easy to work with. She made us feel comfortable and gave us lots of useful guidelines for posing and outfits which made a world of difference during our engagement shoot. We wanted a “Classic San Francisco” type of shoot and she was happy to oblige. She knew the right places to go and spent a whole day with us as we hopped around different locations in the city. Despite the wind, rain and freezing cold, she was game to keep going. Such a trooper! Most photographers wouldn’t have put up with that so we are beyond grateful that she gave us so much of her time. It is light and easy to be with her…it’s just as if we were hanging out with a friend.
In preparation for our Big Day, I gave her a shot list of requests. I was glad to see that she and her second shooter were able to capture majority of what we wanted. (to be continued....)

A SAN FRANCISCO wedding
(.....continuation) I was pleasantly surprised at how quick her turnaround time was. Going through all the photos (well over a thousand!) helped us relive the day. Our couple portraits and candids came out so beautiful. They’re dreamy, natural and romantic, just like I envisioned. Lyka was able to capture us as a couple and the essence of our wedding. We cannot wait to get them printed and framed. We also enjoyed seeing pictures of our guests enjoying the event and details like the food, decor, action shots. etc. On the wedding day, sadly it’s not possible for us to be everywhere at once so through the photos we got to see parts and details of our wedding that we missed. If your budget permits, I completely recommend getting a second shooter because you get different perspectives of your wedding.
Overall, we are very happy with Lyka and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer. You won’t regret it!

Though I can’t use my words to describe the wedding, my photographer Lyka captured everything visually through her cameras. Her images showed exactly our style: natural and romantic. I love going through our photos over and over again. Lyka had not only documented the wedding itself, but all the emotions that went on that day too! These pictures are a precious memory to us. I will be looking at them for the rest of my life. I’m so lucky to have found the best photographer. I really appreciate her hard work and talents. It was truly a dreamy wedding and dream day! Lyka took our annual family photos for the first time last year and I don't think we can ever go with anyone else now! She is such a natural with my kids too. I love how all the photos of the kids had natural smiles because Lyka was able to make them feel so comfortable. It really felt less like a photo session and more like we were hanging out with a friend who just happened to snap some photos along the way!
